Patricia Cornwell Books
Welcome to the world of Patricia Cornwell-author of the famous Scarpetta Medical Examiner series!

Patricia Cornwell was born in Miami, Florida on 6/9/1956. She grew up in Montreat, North Carolina. After her graduation in 1979 from Davidson College, Patricia started working for the Charlotte Observer where she advanced to a feature article writer covering the law enforcement. Her writing eventually led to an award by the North Carolina Press Association for her articles on crime in downtown Charlotte and prostitution.

Patricia Cornwell is best known for her Scarpetta series novels which center around Kay Scarpetta, Chief Medical Examiner. Incidentally, the Patricia Cornwell books are credited with leading to such popular crime shows as Cold Case and CSI.

In addition to the Scarpetta series, Cornwell also wrote best selling books featuring Andy Brazil. In 1997, Patricia Cornwell updated a Time for Remembering and reissued it as Ruth, A Portrait: The Story of Ruth Bell Graham. Then, in 2002, she took on the task of narrating her discovery evidence that would indict the Walter Sickert as the Jack Ripper. A revision of this masterpiece is expected to be released in the near future.
